Effective Treatments to Relieve Rhinitis
Jun 19th
Natural treatments and remedies are an extremely effective way of relieving the symptoms of non-allergic rhinitis.
Where you don’t suffer from allergies but constantly have a blocked and/or runny nose, you have what is termed in the medical profession as ‘non-allergic rhinitis’.
When the mucus glands in the nose become stimulated and the nasal membrane becomes swollen the symptoms of rhintis occur such as nasal congestion and a runny nose. The triggers for this nasal inflammation can be;- irritants in the air such as dust, chemical fumes, strong smells, smoke etc., changes in the weather, viral infections, certain food types such as spicy or hot food, alcohol, drugs such as ibuprofen, aspirin, beta blockers, sedatives, anti-depressants etc., prolonged use of decongestant nasal sprays, hormone changes, stress, hypothyroidism.
The symptoms include;- runny nose, nasal congestion and difficulty breathing, sinus/facial pain, sinus/facial tenderness, sinus/facial pressure, headaches, pain in teeth, pain in jaw, pain in ears, pain through and around eyes, fatigue, dizziness, drainage of a thick yellow or green discharge from the nose or down the back of the throat (post nasal drip), reduced sense of smell and taste, cough (which may be worse at night), nausea, sore throat and halitosis (bad breath), irritability, sleep disorders, anxiety and nervousness, chronic nose bleeds, perforated septum, dry/crusty nasal passages, rapid heart beat.
These proven remedies have relieved the symptoms of many non-allergic rhinitis sufferer’s.
SinuSoothe 100% Natural Nasal Spray – This is doctor recommended and relieves a runny nose, post nasal drip, nasal congestion and other nasal symptoms. The ingredients have been clinically proven to be effective and it provides a long term solution for many sinus conditions including non-allergic rhinitis.
Saline nasal sprays – Saline nasal sprays such as Sterimar may be useful for moisturizing the nasal passages, removing airborne irritants and relieving nasal congestion. They can be either isotonic or hypertonic solutions. These can be used long term, have no side effects and are non-addictive. They are not particularly useful for reducing histamine.
Sinus irrigation – The sinus can be irrigated with saline solution to flush out irritants and relieve nasal congestion. A neti-pot, syringe or similar apparatus is used to administer saline to the sinus cavities and can be very helpful at reducing rhinitis symptoms. Isotonic or hypertonic saline solutions can be used.
Butterbur, quercetin etc. – Natural anti-histamines such as these are just as effective as the otc ones but without the side effects. They only help some rhinitis sufferer’s but may still be worth a try.
Natural anti-inflammatories- Since the symptoms of non-allergic rhinitis are caused by inflammation it follows that by reducing inflammation you will reduce the severity of the symptoms. Omega 3,6 &9 oils, vitamin C, turmeric and ginger are all excellent natural anti-inflammatories. There are plenty of others and your local health food store should be able to advise you on these. It usually takes about 4 weeks for these to start taking effect.
Improving immune function – Improving immune system function by supplementing a healthy diet with vitamins can regulate the body’s reaction to irritants. Exercise, reducing stress and sleep also assist the immune system.
Trigger avoidance – When it is practical and possible to do so it is recommended to avoid your rhinitis triggers such as environmental irritants etc.
Please consult your doctor before using new treatments.

How to Get Rid of Sinus Pain For Good – Secrets of a Sinus Expert
Jun 18th
The following treatments are extremely effective and have already helped many sufferers get rid if their sinusitis symptoms such as sinus pain, pressure, headaches and nasal congestion.
Sinusitis, also known as rhinosinusitis, is usually the main cause of sinus pain and is basically the inflammation of the mucus membrane of your sinuses.
Other symptoms usually associated with sinus pain are sinus pressure around the cheeks, forehead and eyes, sore throat, tiredness, headaches, painful ears, pain felt in teeth and green coloured nasal discharge. Quite often the sinus pain/pressure gets worse when you bend forward or lay down.
Sinusitis is caused by a bacterial and/or fungal infection of the sinus cavities. The common cold, allergies, a deviated nasal septum and nasal polyps can all cause increased nasal congestion and poor sinus drainage. Subsequently infection can occur within this stagnant mucus, leading to further inflammation and nasal congestion, thus a vicious cycle ensues. Chronic sinusitis is caused by stubborn bacterial infections that are resistant to prescribed antibiotics or fungal infections.
Using these treatments can get rid of your sinusitis symptoms for good.
Firstly, eradicate the infection – Antibiotics can get rid of bacterial infection however they will not get rid of fungal infections or bacterial infections which have become resistant to them. SinuSoothe 100% Natural Nasal Spray eradicates both types of infection and is always effective because it’s unique formula contains a potent mixture of natural antibiotics and anti-fungals. It also provides immediate relief from sinus pain, pressure, headaches and nasal congestion etc.
It is recommended and even used by doctors to treat their own sinus conditions, is clinically proven and is completely safe to use.
Secondly, reduce the inflammation – If, after the sinus infection has gone, you still experience minor symptoms, you can take natural anti-inflammatories to relieve these symptoms. Omega oils and turmeric are the main ones, however there are plenty of others, which any good health store can advise you on.
Thirdly, reduce the allergic reaction – Where nasal congestion is caused by allergic rhinitis or hay fever, anti-histamines are advantageous. There are obviously over the counter types, however where these are not tolerated well by an individual (due to side effects), there are plenty of excellent natural alternatives. Butterbur in particular has been clinically proven to be just as effective. SinuSoothe can also relieve nasal symptoms such as a runny nose, sneezing, nasal congestion since it contains anti-histamines and desensitizes the sinuses to allergens.
Fourthly, boost your immune system – Vitamin C, B complex, multi-vitamins, garlic etc. can all play a part in helping your immune system cope better. Of course these should supplement a healthy diet, not replace it. Relaxation and getting a good quality sleep are also beneficial.
Where the cause of the sinus infections is a deviated nasal septum, nasal polyps or some other type of obstruction, your doctor may recommend surgery. Balloon sinuplasty may also be recommended.
Please consult your doctor before using new treatments.
