Places For The Family To Dine In NYC
Jan 8th
When visiting the Big Apple, whether by yourself or with your family, an occasional meal out is a fun treat for everyone. However, many people often avoid dining out because of the prohibitive costs or the long lines typical of New York’s tourist destinations. Ideally, a meal out in NewYork should be affordable, convenient, and hassle-free.
Tea fans rejoice, Alice’s Tea Cup in New York is open for business. Alice’s Tea Cup is a theme tea shop based on Alice In Wonderland. Expect to pay around $10 per person for a proper tea experience, a nominal fee for the experience. Arrive before 10AM (if visiting on a weekday) to avoid long waits, however if you plan on visiting with a large group of friends, family, or co-workers, they do take reservations.
Pros: whimsical atmosphere; scrumptious scones and sandwiches; dozens of unusual teas.
Cons: only one bathroom; slow service; too much breakable crockery around for very young children to cope with.
2. John’s Pizzeria. With locations in Times Square and Bleeker Street, this family-friendly pizza joint is sunny and spacious. The thin-crust pizzas are sold by the pie rather than by the slice, which will make ordering less time-consuming for yourself and your family. If you want to save money, stick with plain tomato and cheese pizzas for $12 each. The atmosphere can be chaotic, and that’s all to the good if you don’t like constantly shushing your kids in restaurants.
Positives – Delicious! Cheap! Quick!
Negatives – Bathrooms are tiny, it can be a bit crowded, and drinks are expensive
Those of you traveling with pets out there may have trouble finding good pet-friendly places to eat in New York. However, look no further than Fetch Bar & Grill in the Upper East Side. Not only are dogs allowed at the restaurant, but they’re encouraged, with a water bowl provided to keep you pet calm and comfortable. They serve typical american food like hamburgers, steaks, potatoes, etc., so even the pickiest of eaters should be able to find something.
Pros: friendly service; big portions; dogs are welcome.
Downsides: Never seen the menu change & for some reason they don’t give free drink refills
These restaurants should make eating in New York a lot simpler and certainly less expensive. You’ll know exactly what to expect when visiting, and you can save a few bucks while leaving with a stomach full of delicious and unique foods.
